Brady Goes All Out to Fight Hunger
Offices Across North Carolina Collect Can Goods for Local Food Banks
GREENSBORO, N.C. (January 3, 2011) — Brady (www.bradyservices.com), a company that provides energy systems and comprehensive building solutions for commercial and industrial facilities across North Carolina, announced today the results of its December food drive. More than 4,800 cans of food were collected at seven Brady locations. This is the second year that Brady associates organized to fight hunger across the state.
“I am proud of the efforts of our associates and customers in helping to feed hungry people,” said Brady president, Jim Brady. “I am inspired every day by their commitment to community.”
Each Brady location collected non-perishable food to give to a local charity. The associates at the Greensboro headquarters brought in cans from their pantries and holiday shopping. Raleigh associates pooled cash donations and partnered with Kevin Carroll, owner of Carroll’s IGA in Steadman, N.C., to stretch their purchasing power. The five parts stores included the generosity of their customers by building pyramids in their showrooms.
The Raleigh and Greensboro offices held a friendly competition with each other. Raleigh won the food fight, donating more than 3,200 cans to the Food Bank of Eastern and Central North Carolina. “Although Raleigh operations amassed the most cans, the real winners are the people in need of a hot meal,” said Regina Chayer, organizer of the Raleigh drive.
